Blogs and Ends: The Annoying Day Edition

Cleaning up a few loose Disney + ends.

If you still have Disney + account this is for you.

If you aren’t interested don’t mention it in the comments.

I’m in a foul mood.

FIRST

I had had a request about reviewing the new Phineas and Ferb movie. Honestly, there isn’t a lot to review. If you liked the original series you’ll like this too. Certainly, it’s way better than The Owl House.

There is quite a bit of fan service, which became a problem that the original series had towards the end. Lots and lots of in-jokes but that’s okay because the show has been out of production for five years. There is also a shout-out to Milo Murphy which is fine too. The only real problem with the movie is that it doesn’t cover any character developments that hadn’t already happened in the series.

Candace is back to desperately wanting to bust her brothers, even though she had moved past that in the original show. Doof is an evil scientest again. Basically the story appears to take place a couple of seasons in the past.

Phineas and Ferb almost but didn’t quite wear out it’s welcome, so I was happy to give Candace Against the Universe a click.

NEXT

Remember Space Ghost Coast to Coast?

Somebody at Henson Studios does.

Earth to Ned is a comedy talk show starring (what appears to be) Pilot from Farscape’s cognitively impaired son and his ardvark-hedgehog sidekick.

Again, if you liked the original you’ll like Earth to Ned. It’s watchable.

LAST

If you haven’t seen it yet, here is the season 2 trailer for the Mandalorian. Gina Carano hasn’t been edited out yet, so the show might still be worth watching.

Honestly, the first season wasn’t the Breaking Bad of Star Wars but it was fun and watchable, so it left the last six movies in the dust.

Okay, I’m done here.

  1. Thank you for the quick P+F review, I appreciate the reassurance. Character “development” in 2020 is what I feared, so I’m happy to hear there’s none of that and the kids can have a weekend treat.
