This one caught my attention because I honestly didn’t know how Black Panther, (a movie with an incredibly high priority for Disney/Marvel), could have such terrible CGI.
Now Justice League, I understood. Henry Cavil refused to shave his mustache off for the reshoots that Joss Whedon was doing because he had another film commitment with a better franchise that he wanted to keep happy a whole lot more. So someone higher up that didn’t understand these things, said, “just fix it in post.” The one thing that CGI can’t do well at all is a human face.
The human face is vital as a means of communication. We can’t go off the smell of chemical changes brought on by extreme emotions, we need to read facial expressions. And we do so, both consciously and unconsciously. If you catch someone scowling at you out of blue, you have an immediate emotional response to it. A pretty girl smiling at you does much the same thing…but different.

So why my sudden interest?
Well in sixty six days (as of this writing) the next Star Wars movie will be in the theaters. Ready or not they are absolutely committed to that date. And since they still don’t have a final cut, there is no way in hell the CGI will be ready in time.
Star Wars. A film that really set the bar for the very best in Special Effects, may well be about to set the bar for the worst.

the apotheosis of MBA school shitty management and accountant directed strategery.
Lucas did his film right and created the first multi-billion dollar franchise. even though it’s release got delayed ( i believe ).
these idiots are going to “make their date”.
what would you call a Star Wars movie with awful SFX?

Your would call it Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. Paramount had to do another film and had to give it to Shatner. Therefore, go as cheap as possible.
You really get the feeling everyone just wants to get this film done. Then they can walk away. And with the backlash the sequels have created, I think just shoving something out the door is probably the best idea.
Roundhead Rian’s film was bad in many ways. However, it looked great.
