When Netflix axed the unloved and unfortuneate bastard child of Veggie Tales, Veggie Tales in the House, the view around Fortress Cataline was, well maybe this is for the best.
It wasn’t a patch on the old DVD series and the market had shifted so that their old business model of one DVD every three or four months was no longer viable.
A shame but they had had a good run and besides god only knows what would have happened to them now that they are owned by Dream Works.
However, TBN has decided to bring them back and it looks and sounds like the old series. And while I am happy to see it back I can’t help but be a little discouraged by the fact that after a quarter century, Veggie Tales is still the best of the best for Christian children’s television. It means that it’s not moving forward.
But be that as it may, it’s nice to see a reboot that isn’t a disaster.
